"He Calms the Raging Sea"
We all have times in our lives when we feel we are being tossed by the raging sea. At one of these times in my life, I prayed for help not knowing how to stay afloat in the turbulence that was out of my control. The answer that came to me clearly was, "Be still." As I learned to trust and hand my troubles to the Savior, I was brought into the stillnes of His peace and calm waters. This painting reminds me when trials come and I feel tossed by the stormy sea to put my faith and trust in Him. I have learned that as I do so he will bring me out of the storm into the calm, still waters that only He can.
At times we all experience trials, death of loved ones, health challenges, depression pain etc. that at times can threaten to derail us and spiral us down into survival mode. The scriptures have promised us that we won't be given more than we can handle. During these times I have realized there is more than I can handlle alone but with "Him" nothing is impossible. Sometimes we just need him to lift our burdens and carry us for a time. In this painting I have tried to depict what if would feel/look like to be held and carried by Him through these times to bring us peace and comfort and give us the courage to keep putting one foot in front of the other during these challenging times. This painting can be the visual reminder for you or a loved one to let Him carry you through these times.

This painting was inspired from President Russell M. Nelson's Spring 2025 general conference talk titled, "Confidence in the Presence of God." He said, "We do not know the day or the hour of His coming. But I do know that the Lord is prompting me to urge us to get ready for that "great and dreadful day." I remember those words hitting me with great power when he said them and I began to think a lot about what it would feel and look like when He came. His talk gave me comfort that, He is Coming, which brings me joy. This painting is my own interpretation of what that might look like. I pictured a portal opening up in the sky that he would come through running down some stairs to meet us. I envisioned him with open arms and a big smile, being as excited to greet us as we art to greet him
